Sports (or sports) are all types of typically competitive physical activity that seek to use, sustain or develop physical abilities and skills through casual or coordinated participation, while providing entertainment to participants and, in some cases, spectators.
AMERICAN FOOTBALL
American Football is an American football game. Outside of the US, it is also called Gridiron, although it’s generally referred to as just football in the US. American Football (Association Football) is distinct from the common international sport commonly known as football or soccer. The sport originated from the football sport of rugby. An American football game was first played between Princeton and Rutgers on November 6, 1869.
BASKETBALL
Basketball is a game played on a rectangular court, normally indoors, between two teams of five players each. By tossing the ball through the opponent’s target, an elevated horizontal hoop and net called a basket, each team tries to score. Basketball was invented by James Naismith on or about December 1, 1891, at the International Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Training School, Springfield, Massachusetts, where Naismith was an instructor in physical education.
VOLLEYBALL
Volleyball is a sport made up of two teams of 2, 4 or 6 players, where, under a set of rules, they battle over a net by attempting to push the ball down on the opposition court. Volleyball is arguably one of the world’s most successful participating sports, if not today, with the phenomenal development and popularity of the sport. Volleyball history is extensive with the game originally known as Mintonette. Mintonette was started by William G Morgan to be played as an alternative to the more physical basketball. The idea was to incorporate features of handball and tennis into a sport that could be played by older members of the YMCA where William Morgan was a physical education director.
